About Tito

Tito is a 13 year old Chihuahua who is very sweet to the humans he knows well. We have had him since he was 8 weeks old and was very friendly with everyone (humans, dogs, cats) when he was younger. Now that he is older and has more health issues he has a hard time warming up to new people. He is friendly and even plays sometimes with our 9 year old female Schnauzer, but not as friendly with our female and male cats. He has had back problems a few times which he was treated for with IV and oral steroids, but still has back pain intermittently. He has also had dental issues and has had most of his teeth removed. As long as he has a comfortable bed/blankets to sleep in (which is what he spends most of his time doing), some love and attention, and dry food (with occasional wet food or treats) and water, he is a happy dog. He also enjoys spending time in the sun, attention and petting/scratches from his favorite humans. We are looking for a new, loving, quiet, and mellow home where he can hopefully be the only pet or have some time to warm up to other pets. We are so sad that we have to find a new home for him but we have a 15 month old son that Tito is unfortunately too aggressive with. We've tried to make it work with the 2 of them since our son was born but unfortunately he is still too grumpy and aggressive with our son when he tries to pet him or play with him. Because Tito only has a few teeth left in the back of his mouth he is not a danger to bite our 15 month old but he does growl at him and scare him which can't continue. Tito probably only has a few years at most left to live and we would love if he could spend that time in a happy, quiet, comfortable, and loving home. We will provide whatever he needs in his new home and we know what a sweet and cuddly dog he can be.
