About Atticus

Adoption Fee: $500
Anatolian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Atticus is a 14 month old purebred Anatolian Shepherd who was purchased from a breeder when he was a puppy. His owner is relinquishing him because he no longer has the time to spend with him. Atticus is kid, cat, dog and people friendly. He was always slept in bed with his owner. He is housebroken. He is very protective of his family and that will be a trait he will carry to his new family once bonded to them. He has been friendly to the shelter staff. He will be in an offsite home and not physically present in the shelter which will require advance arrangement to have an appointment for getting acquainted. Atticus is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and weighs about 90-100lbs .and 14 months old. Our preference is to find a home which has experience with this breed.. He will require a secure fenced yard that is already in place before he can leave for his new home. His adoption fee is $500. Application can be submitted online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application/ or at the shelter. Adoption policies/application procedures are detailed under All Adoptable Animals. Adoption of all dogs/cats requires an approval process to ensure that they are going into a home suitable for their needs and committed to their care and safety. Each is placed with the same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own furry family members. The process typically takes between 1 and 3 days. Adopters who are not within the local area of the shelter MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. Meeting approved adopters is one of the final steps in the adoption process. We do not permit transport or shipping of our residents without the adopter in attendance. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Resident animals are owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The shelter is not permitted by GA law to accept strays. The facility is usually operating at capacity with a list of animals approved for intake waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4.
