About Coop

NAME Coop AGE (or best guess) 2 years BREED (or best guess) Australian Shepard Mix RESCUE STORY Coop was hit by a car, and a couple in the neighborhood took him in. They took him to the vet and he had a disclocated hip. They had his hip set but it came back out of place after a few days. He needed to have surgery, so they contacted TSK for help. Coop had his hip surgery & now just needs a forever home! I LOVE Humans. I love to get pets, lick, and play. I love attention. I just want a family to be part of forever! I really love exploring outside, it's one of my favorite places to be, especially if other dogs or humans are outside with me. I HAVE a very loving personality. I am extremely sweet and eager to please. I love everyone I meet! I GET ALONG WITH other dogs, though it may take a day or two to get used to each other. I am extremely playful so I would do well with dogs with are willing to run around and play with me! I have not been around small children or cats. I NEED an active family to love me forever. I AM extremely smart and easy to train. I have gotten crate trained since being in my foster home, and I am completely house trained. I have learned some basic commands, mostly sit - and when I am hyper or my foster folks think I am being too active on my hip, they can tell me to sit and I sit and focus. I am working on sitting & staying until I am told 'okay!'. I know I have to sit still to be let out of my crate, to get my food put down, or to have the door open to go outside! Im pretty close to learning that 'okay!' means I can stop sitting. I have also learned to not eat my food so fast like I did when I first came here. I learn things pretty quickly and easily so it would be fun to go to a home who may want to teach me some tricks! A PERFECT DAY FOR ME INCLUDES Playing with my foster family's dogs, lots of time outside to play, sitting with (or on!) a human for lots of love, kisses, and licks. Maybe a car ride - those are fun - though usually end up at the vet... I PREFER NOT TO Go to the vet, eat peanut butter, or stay calm all the time after surgery. I'm a fun loving guy. IF YOUR FAMILY wants an extremely intelligent, gentle, loving dog that is playful, fun and sweet as can be...adopt Coop! OTHER INFO THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED Coop hates peanut butter. Weird thing for a dog, but it's probably the only thing in life he hates...okay, and the vet. He takes pills sitting on top of a spoon of wet food, though! Since Coop had hip surgery, he has had to stay calm for the past few weeks. He should be almost 100% about 4-6 weeks after surgery and this should not impact his activity going forward. He is bursting at the seams to run and play, so he is ready to be part of an active family to love him forever once he is healed up. Coop's adoption fee is $175. This includes his deworming, shop & rabies vaccines, heartworm prevention through date of adoption, flea and tick preventive through date of adoption, neuter, and microchip.
