About Macy

Boston Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Please visit our website and submit a free application and we will contact you. Our dogs are fostered all over VA, MD and DE so you won't reach the foster if you use the sites contact option. I can answer some questions and you can email me at [email protected] but other than our process I can't do much without an application. Once we have an app we'll put you in touch with Macy's foster mom but not until we know a bit about you. We won't share your information unless you ask us too. _____________________________________________ Macy is a very sweet high energy medium sized female Boston Terrier. It's possible she's a mix but my personal and educated opinion is that she is 100% Boston she's a bigger girl than most in weight but not really in size. I believe she's what is known as an 'Old Boston Bulldog' She's truer in size to what the breed was like 100 years ago. Macy needs fenced in yard and homes without one will not be considered. This is not true of all of our dogs but Macy loves to run and needs more freedom than a trip to the dog park would provide. Macy does well with some other dogs but not most. She is very excitable and will chase them if they run. She will do best in as an only dog. She has the bad habit of jumping on her people to greet them and could be too much dog in the wrong home. This is something most Boston's do and the behavior can be modified with training. Once she has gotten over her initial excitement, she is the best dog in the world. She craves affection and gives lots of kisses. She follows her people like a shadow around the house and is very social. She enjoys her walks but pulls hard on the leash. She is house trained, and not destructive although she will pull the stuffing out of a soft toy. She is a good little watch dog and takes her job seriously. Older kids in their teens/tweens would do well with her, she is too strong for little ones. Macy's ideal home would have the best dog if they are willing to have patience and invest the time to help her with her manners (primarily jumping and pulling on the leash, she is doing much better), give her regular walks and stimulation and lots of love and affection! Macey is about 2 1/2 years old we are not positive she may be a few months more but is as likely to be a few months less. We know she's barely an adult and our vets agree. Please do not use RescueMe's contact link. Please only email after you have submitted an application on our website www.odbtr.org
