About Wally

Wally would love a family with a fenced in back yard or a rural home with acreage (he is off leash trained), another dog he can play with, and humans that are often active with their furry kids. Wally is a great dog but misunderstood. He needs an owner who has experience with the Terrier/herding breed. Wally is house trained, good with kids and other dogs. However, in a group or pack of dogs, he has been known to try to herd them which sometimes does not go over too well. There are 3 cats in Wally's foster home, and he is doing great with them. You can even find them cuddling on occasion. Sometimes Wally is bored. He has been bounced around from home to home unable to find his place in this world. He is fine for a few weeks in a house but then after the newness wears off and the family stops paying him as much attention as they did when they first brought him home, Wally gets bored and ends up doing what cattle dogs do; finding something to keep himself feeling important. As stated earlier, Wally is a great dog. We are requiring a homeowner with a fenced yard OR a rural home with lots of acres to run and a commitment to do something with him other than take a few walks. Another dog for Wally to play with would be great. And he needs something to do like hiking, biking, running or agility. This is not because he is a high energy dog. This is because his brain needs something to do, and he needs to feel he serves a purpose. And this is what will make him the happiest. Wally is about 3.5 years old.
