They've had a deaf dog returned today after he was adopted a few weeks ago! He is very stressed at the shelter and escapes his kennel and won't stop even if he hurts himself! ID #A184706 - Groot is an 18 month old, neutered male Dane/Pitbull mix. Being Groot is deaf, he's therefore a very anxious dog and does not do well being left alone. Before he was adopted he would escape his kennel at night and the staff would find him with the dog next door each morning, so they became kennel mates. Groot loooooves other dogs and is great with children. He is going to need an experienced adopter or preferably a rescue. Groot received distemper, parvovirus, bordetella vaccines and dewormer on intake. Groot tested heartworm negative on 03.0918 (will be retested tomorrow). Groot is available for rescue immediately!!!!! This is URGENT team, this guy was already trying to escape his kennel 30 minutes after returning to the shelter!
