A SECURELY FENCED YARD AND BORDER COLLIE SAVVY WILL BE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR HIM.*** Cody is fostered in Myakka City, FL (Manatee County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Cody is a 2-3 year old, 45 lb border collie with typical qualities of a young herder. He and his brother were never separated when young and do suffer from littermate syndrome. It is likely they never met another dog besides their littermates and mother until now, so they will need a savvy person to introduce them slowly to other dogs with low stimulus. Crating will be an absolute must. Cody is a lovable boy with medium to strong herding drive, and high energy. He enjoys playing fetch with a stick and loves the frisbee. He is a bit head shy and shy in general. He knows basic commands, and is house and crate trained. He would shine as a working dog or possibly a sports prospect. He is learning to like other dogs but isn't totally comfortable with others yet. He will need plenty of mentally stimulating activities to keep him happy. Cody is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative.
