About Olivia

We found Olivia through a rescue in August, and she's been a good dog. Shes loving and very smart, but she's just not the right fit for our home due to her energy level and high need for attention. The vet estimates that she was born between March and May in 2017. They also speculated that she's a Belgian Malinois and probably Golden Retriever. She weighs ~45 lbs and has no known health issues. When she was rescued, she'd been living on her own in an abandoned house. She's an outdoor kinda dog, and her lifestyle demands extended access to the outdoors. She is very interested in meeting new people-there's no such thing as a stranger to her, though she does chuff at passers by in front of our home. She's just as interested in other dogs and should do very well with homes that have them. We have an infant, and she does well with her. We haven't seen her with cats but I'd guess that she wouldn't get along with them. She does chase squirrels, birds, rabbits, or anything else that winds up in our back yard. She's extremely intelligent, easily the smartest dog I've owned. But she is also highly independent despite her need for emotional connection. So, we've been able to teach her things-but getting her to do them can be a trick. We do care for her and want to see her go to the right home. You must have a full fence, be willing to walk her at least daily, and have previous experience with high-energy dogs.
