About TAMMY

Tammy is an incredibly sweet and easy going schnauzer girl, friendly as can be, loving, absolutely delightful. She's 5-6 years old and has recently lost her home due to her owner moving to assisted living. Tammy has been seriously spoiled with food and treats and weighs in at 23 pounds (she should be in the 15-16 pound range) so her new owner should be dedicated to portion control, healthy snacks (like tidbits of green beans or shredded carrots), and have a nice yard for her so she can get a little exercise any time she wants. Tammy has a little bit of a limp but we had her checked out by the vet and had x-rays done to see if there was anything she needed done and there is not; she may have been born with this little skip to her step or perhaps had an injury at some point that didn't heal exactly right, but the bones and joints all look good! She's not in any pain with this and still enjoys her walks but probably for now only to the corner and back until she's at her good weight. Once she has her girlish figure back, we believe this will also make her walking more enjoyable for her. Tammy also enjoys the company of other dogs and is happy to join in for play-time. We prefer any children in Tammy's home be at least 8-9 year old and she's also looking for a setting where she wouldn't be left at home alone all day.
