About Mickey

Mickey was rescued a few years back from South Houston Animal Shelter. I fostered him and eventually found him a wonderful home with an elderly couple. They loved him but sadlynlost their home to Harvey. In the mean time, they moved in with their daughter who already had 4 animals (the limit in our city). With Mickey and his two siblings, they had more than the amount and the daughters neighbors complained. Animal control told them they had to give up 3 animals. They were just about to buy a new home when they found out the woman had stage 4 breast cancer and it does not look promising. So it looks like she will never be living on her own again, so no chance that she will be able to take him back. She regretfully made the decision to ask me to help rehome him (and his siblings which have already been adopted). I am currently in possession of him but also can't keep him because I too am at the limit for animals. He is a really sweet boy who loves to cuddle. When I am working from home he is usually right next to me on the couch cuddling. He is smart andnin a matter of weeks has learned what 'crate time' means and automatically gets in his crate. He loves to give kisses, but will play with my dogs as well, but not super long or rowdy. At night he burrows under the covers. His negatives...... being elederly and disabled she did not work with him on housetraining him. But I have found belly bands work well for him. Any adoption fee will go to cover the cost of additional belly bands to send with his adopter. He does not wake from sleep abruptly and can sound grumpy if you accidentally rouse him under the covers in the middle of the night but does not bite. He just sounds grumpy. ;-). He learned the doggie door so I imagine with a little patience someone can teach housetraining. I work 10 hour days 1 hour from home so I am fine 12 hours a day 5 days a week. My husband doesn't have the patience to help me train him. Please consider adopting Mickey. Leave a message on my phone and Inwill get back with you. As I said, any one who adopts him will be required to pay an adoption fee to me which I will use to buy belly bands to send with him(already purchased). Any left over money from the fee will be donated. Vet records will be checked as I want to make sure that he is going into a good home and not being used for unscrupulous purposes. He is up to date on at least rabies and on monthly heartworm mess. But he is likely due for a new test and prescription. Please consider this loving older guy. You won't regret it. He will adore you and show you the true meaning of unconditional love.
