About Ida May

Lab / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Ida may loves everyone but is a very active girl in need of some training. she'd do best with no young children, as she'd likely knock them down by accident. She'd also love an active family, maybe one who runs to wear out all that energy!! I'm a sweety. Give lots of kisses. Love getting my tummy rubbed. Crate trained. I know where to go when I'm told to go to bed. Still working on house breaking though, I think, but no more accidents in house since my first week with my foster family. I think I was just a bit nervous but have settle in now. I only want to go outside if my foster mom goes with me and then I get excited and jump on her to show her just how high I can jump, so it takes a while for me to go potty. I am slowly learning 'off' but sometimes I'm just too excited to listen at first. I sometimes give love nips when I do this but not hard ones. I do come when called. But be prepared as I am sometimes so excited that I jump on the person that's called my name. That's probably why it's not a good idea for me to be around little kids. Teenagers, yes. I do like getting a treat when I come back inside. This is when I get to practice my sit & lay down....still working on it though...and stay. I haven't really learned that I'm not supposed to wrestle with my foster sister in the house yet. I do know there is a secret water stash in a tiny room in a big white bowl, but my foster mom tells me no. The fluffy white balls that I see when the dryer door is open are fun to play keep away with my foster mom. My foster mom tells me no. I'm learning the word 'no'. I practice hard testing dog toys and beds for durability. So far none have passed my tests. I get along with other friendly dogs (not cats though). I have fun testing the toys with my foster sister too. We play tug o war, wrestle and play keep the wood stick away from each other. Love going on walks and car rides. I'm really good when we go too. Well except that one time I chewed my leash while I was in the back seat waiting for my foster mom to get new test toys. The guy sitting up front paid me no attention. What can I say? I was bored. What I'm looking for: My dream person or family that loves to take me for a car ride, go on long walks, run and play. That's what I dream about when I'm taking my naps. Well - that and delicious treats.
