OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. My name is Flo-Jo after the great sprinter Florence Griffith Joyner. My foster Mom says 'I've got some great wheels on me'. I guess that means I'm fast and I can actually jump REALLY high. There are 2 big cats here. I want them to play but they really aren't interested in playing with me. I keep hoping they will change their mind! I'm crate trained at night. It's not my favorite thing because I'd rather sleep with the humans, but my foster Mom just has to tell me twice to settle down and go to sleep and I do. During the day when you're gone, I don't quite understand why I have to be by myself. I have some separation anxiety that I'm working on. Please be patient with me and understand I'm lonely and a little scared. I will need you just to give me some time to adjust to my new environment. It's going to take some time, but I'll be sure to work hard on it. It's probably best that I live in a home instead of an apt just in case to not disturb your neighbors. I LOVE to go on walks. I love it, I love it, I love it! I'll bark at humans and dogs because I really want to meet them. So far, even with bigger dogs, I take a submissive role. I think I might do best with another dog or even a friendly cat in the house. I like company, a lot. If you have time to teach me about being alone, and be patient with me, you're going to love me. I'm learning and I'm ready to be with my forever family, so I can snuggle, play with you, go on long walks and explore the neighborhood. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
