About Prince

Meet Prince! Prince is a 2-3 year old boy that wasn't socialized before we got him! Because of this, he is aloof around strangers, but he will gladly sit for a treat once he warms up... and then promptly walks away to mind his own business! He absolutely adores his people in his foster family, but because of his size he would do best in a home with children over the age of 10. Prince is a tall boy over 27' and is only 58 lbs! Although he is fantastic with his family, he wears a muzzle when out in public and must continue to do so since strangers make him a bit nervous. Prince is a goofy boy that is very vocal, he back talks all of the time and he even talks as he enjoys his favorite thing: rolling around on the ground! Prince gets along well with female dogs when introduced slowly, and doesn't get along with most males. Prince should not go to a home with small dogs or cats. Prince loves to greet his people by nibbling on their chin, leans up against them, and even tries to cuddle up in their arms. He's such a sweet boy! Prince is in need of a very experienced adopter, and even though he is a purebred Siberian Husky his behavior, intensity, and drive resembles a German Shepherd more than Husky. He LOVES to work for his treats! He currently knows sit, down, touch, crate, here (come), trades for toys using treats, paw, and is learning stand and to tolerate his foster mom plucking out his undercoat. He is incredibly slow to house train, so he is in need of a patient person who understands he came to us knowing nothing but 'sit.' Please understand we are a volunteer based organization so we can't set a timeline, however, we work hard to process it as fast as we can. It's very important that you fill out the application completely. Missing information will delay the process, especially vet phone numbers, references, and info on pets. We DO NOT have any additional photos other than the ones posted on our website and we try to be as honest as we can in each pets bio. Please read each bio carefully, all the information that we know is in there. If it's not there we do not know. Additionally, all of our dogs are in foster homes. We DO NOT have a shelter or location. They are in private homes with families. Therefore, you must have an approved application prior to setting up a meet and greet. Finally, thank you for your interest in adoption. Your application is key. Many times, we find you apply for one dog but that one might not be the best fit for your family. We will suggest if another one that is available will be better suited.
