Update 7/2018: We've heard from Princess Jasmine's contact, and Princess Jasmine is still waiting! Her contact writes, 'I work 9-10 hours a day and feel that it is not fair for her to be left alone all of that time...' She also tells us Jasmine loves children and small dogs! Name: Princess Jasmine Age: DOB 11/2/12 Sex: Female (confirmed spayed) Breed: Shar-Pei Location: Henderson, NV Vet Info: Princess Jasmine is confirmed spayed. She is up to date on vaccines and is next due for her rabies vaccine on 2/18/21. She has not had a recent heartworm test. Princess Jasmine weighs about 54 pounds. She had severe glaucoma and has had both eyes removed. Her owner also writes, 'She may have a bit of an issue with a ligament in her right hind leg.' Owner Info: Princess Jasmine is a beautiful girl in need of a new home or rescue. She was taken back in by her original owner to be medically treated and to find her forever home as her initial adopters were not able to care for her due to an unexpected financial hardship. They are now advertising to help her find a new home. 'She was taken in temporarily to be treated medically, and to find her a forever home as we are the people that initially adopted her out to her original owner....we have taken her in specifically to alleviate her medical issues, and to find her a new forever home as her last owner (5 years) surrendered her to us when he... could no longer care for her.' Princess Jasmine is an indoor dog with run of the house. She is housebroken and working on leash training. 'She is not currently leash trained, but is naturally inclined to do fairly well in following along while on leash, and we are currently working on teaching her.' Princess Jasmine prefers women to men, but will warm up to men. She has never been around children since they've had her back. Her owner gave us more details: 'Jasmine seems to get along better with strange women upon first meeting, but over time her reactions to men even out with those toward women, based on her initial behavior when she came to us. As for children, she hasn't had any exposure to any since she came to us on Jan 31st.' Her owner also writes, 'Please keep in mind that upon her arrival she still had her eyes, and they were under immense pressure, so I'm unsure that this would still apply because she's had them removed to alleviate her pain, and because she was entirely blind anyway. ' She currently lives with three other Shar-Pei - her brother, father and mother, and she has growled and snapped at her mother and brother. 'Her temperament toward relaxed dogs is fine, she licks her dad's face regularly, but her mom, and brother are more aggressive, and protective, and we've been unable to get them to tolerate each other.' She can be possessive of food. Her owners feel she adapts well to new situations and tell us, 'she has been taken to nothing but new places since we got her, and she does very well, including learning how to use stairs.' %BD'%BD%BD '...she is a sweet dog, and I want her to be happier than she can be here having to be separated from 2 of our 3 dogs.'
