About Trooper

Trooper is a special boy in so many ways. Not only is he super good looking, but his eyes are especially soulful, destined to melt your heart. Trooper is on the WAAAG comforting committee.....when a new friend comes to live in the kennel beside his in his cabin, he is the calming gentle presence that helps them adjust to their new surroundings. Trooper himself might be nervous around new people but he is more interested in them if they have a dog. Even if a new dog barks at him, he patiently waits for them to become his friend. A couple of sniffs and they're in!! He enjoys it when the other dogs at the rescue come and run along his fence line with him. His tail is high and wagging and his bark is playful. Trooper loves his walks and crouches down to have his harness put in place. He loves to explore his world and bounds ahead with joy. He prefers to have a dog companion when he's out for a stroll. He's had several small buddies as walking partners and it gives him confidence. We feel the right dog sibling would help Trooper adjust to a new life. In the meantime, Trooper is loving his walks through the woods and the comfort of his cabin. We know that Trooper wants nothing more than to feel safe. He is calm and loving once he trusts and his trust is worth the wait. He will know when his forever friend comes along because they will be willing to give him the time he needs. The most special thing about Trooper is the black kissing spot on top of his head between his ears!
