Julie long haired dachshund 3 years old. Sweet adorable Julie was in a death camp of a high kill shelter in Korea. With so many of these sweet angels we will never know how they end up there. She was so sick with kennel cough that she was coughing blood. Her fur was so very matted it was pulling at her skin. She needed out immediately to save her life. The wonderful Korean rescue we work with got this sweet baby doll out of the death camp of a shelter and to a vet where she was treated to get well from the kennel cough. Julie went to a foster home where she was being loved and cherished until she was ready to come back to the US. In her foster home it was quite quickly discovered she loves frozen broccoli, eggs, chicken breast, carrots, and blueberries. She loves to go on walks and is leash trained, good with cats & dogs & respectful children. She loves people. Julie gets very excited when someone pats her and will pee a little so she needs a few minutes to calm down before patting her again. Time and training will resolve this. Julie is totally potty pad trained so she has not yet learned to go outside. Right now she will only go on potty pads. Even after a long walk she still will hold it to go on potty pads. She will need to be taught to go potty outside as well. She loves stuffed toys and the company of other dogs. She also enjoys bully sticks, and even better, gets so excited when she goes in the car with excitement she makes noises. Julie was born with a deformed eye called microphthalmia. It is a congenital condition where an eye failed to grow properly. These small eyes are almost always blind but are not painful. In Julie's case she just continues on with her life & this is normal to her as she was born this way. Julie is a low maintenance little soul who just wants to be cuddled, loved, and cherished. We will only be accepting applications who meet all of the requirements for Julie. Julie is currently in a foster home. It's time for Julie to find her new forever home, and she can only go to a home with other dogs present in the home, someone who will work with her on potty training, and training like all of her doggy friends. Someone should be present in the home during the day. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Julie and have read her listing fully to the end. You must be willing to go through our process of your references being checked, a phone interview, and a home visit, followed with a meet & greet if it's a good fit with our discretion. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Julie has an adoption fee of $660 & will be ready to go to her forever on 4/5/18. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. When submitting an application, Please be 100% certain that you are committed to completing the adoption process. This includes having all household members in agreement of the dog adoption and being prepared to complete the adoption once approved. We are committed to placing each dog in the very best home possible. As an all volunteer rescue we spend several hours vetting and approving each applicant and every minute spent working on applicants that are not prepared to complete the adoption takes us away from saving another dogs life. This truly is a life and death matter for these precious souls. Thank you for your understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog We will contact you once we have received and reviewed your completed application. A Home visit as well as a reference check MUST be completed before a meet & greet can be scheduled. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Adoption Process All of our dogs are in foster homes, so please fill out an application on our website to meet them in person: www.aberdeenstr.com.
