About Diesel

My name is Diesel. My vet thinks I may be an American Terrier Bull Dog mixed with Labrador retriever. I will be 2 years old in June 2018. I am a very happy, lovable dog with my owners. I love to give a lot of licks, especially on your face. I love to play with toys and run around outside. I am spoiled and sleep with my human brother on his bed and if I am cold, I sneak under the covers and sleep. I have a fenced back yard and so my owners don't usually walk me because I am too strong for them to handle. I am being raised by my owner's parents because my owner died last July 2017. My current owners already have 2 dogs and a cat and I am more high energy than the rest of the pets in the house and they don't have the time to spend training me to be a better behaved dog. I tend to jump on people and can be very crazy when I play with my dog brothers. I am not particularly fond of my cat brother, so I would do better in a home that does not have any cats. I have never been near a young child, so I don't know how I would be with them. I have been around teenagers and adults only. I do okay with males and females, but am a little more guarded when introduced to a male for the first time. As you can see, I am extremely handsome and have very beautiful eyes. I am very vocally expressive and let you know what I want. I have shown aggression on two occasions towards my owner. Once when I went behind the couch with something I wasn't supposed to have. I growled somewhat viciously at my mom when she reached to take it from me. I recently bit my mom in the arm when she tried to make me take a bath. They have never hit me, but have only shown me a lot of love, so I am not sure why I reacted this way. I hope someone will give me a chance to prove I am extremely loving, but may also need to be in a home where my behavior is monitored closely around other people. I am used to being crated a couple hours a day, if necessary. However, I am in a home where they work different shifts, so I am not crated much. I wouldn't be good in a home where you crate me all day long. I am not used to that. I can be left home and will not chew up the house. Just don't leave paper around or garbage cans that I can get into because I do like to chew stuff like that. My owners are having a hard time giving me up because my original owner was their son and died at age 21, and they have raised me since then. They love me because I belonged to their son, so this is very hard for them to do. They just have too many animals to care for right now. If you are willing to love me, but spend the time I need to be trained, so I can be a great dog, please reach out to my owners and come spend some time with me to see if we may be the right fit for each other.
