About Gemma East

GEMMA IS AT RISK OF BEING RETURNED TO THE SHELTER FOR NO FAULT OF HER OWN! WHERE SHE WILL BE EUTHINIZED. Gemma was rescued from the shelter, it was made clear that she was not dog friendly, and the adopter did not have dogs, but living conditions have changed now...and where she had to move has dogs. THEY DON'T WANT HER ANYMORE! :( We need to find her a place now! Please read below and call ASAP ----NEEDS OUT ON EUTHINASIA LIST AT HIGH KILL SHELTER! 1.3 months old just a baby-------------Poor Gemma has been in and out of the shelter most of her life, even as a puppy! She is a frequent flyer at the East shelter location. She started her stint here as a puppy and is now basically an adult dog. Gemma presents as a friendly, but insecure dog. She can be barrier reactive, but with guidance from her handlers is able to settle and has coexisted with other dogs during her assessments/reassessments. She has lived in several homes- her adoptions have lasted from only one day to a couple of months. Gemma has some inconsistent notes- good with kids, not good with kids, good with small dogs, not good with dogs. We need her to find someone who is willing to give her some structure and guidance to help her be successful in a home. Gemma needs an angel to work with her!
