About Hunter

Hello, my name is hunter, I am almost a year old and I'm looking for my forever family. My mom is a Staffordshire terrier and lab mix and I am not sure what my Dad was. My foster Mom thinks he was a plot hound because I look like a plot hound more than anything else. My foster Mom rescued me, my Momma and my brothers and sisters from a situation where we were all left without food and water for over 2 weeks, my Momma did a good job taking care of us, she put all of her energy into keeping us alive so she was in pretty poor health when we went to our foster home. A few weeks after being in our foster home, we all got really sick and some of us died, the vet said we had parvo and some of us had to stay with him until we were strong enough to go home. I got all better and now I'm stronger than ever and the doctor said I'm immune to parvo now and im not contagious! My foster family moved to the country and now we have a huge area to run free, a pond to play in and lots of places to explore and get to see all kinds of exciting things. I prefer being outside, but I am housebroken, My foster mom has to make me come inside even though I dont want to! My foster family consists of 3 cats and lots of other doggies that I play with and the little humans that I love more than anything. I am kind of shy at first, but I warm up to you very quickly. I am a sweet boy and I am super smart! I am very picky about what food I eat though and I do occasionally like to chew up stuff (it's a puppy thing) my foster Mom tells me it's not ok and I dont like going to time out so I dont do it unless she accidentally leaves me out when she leaves (then I can blame it on my foster brothers and sisters) I am crate trained and am used to being put into my bed(crate with bed) at night and when my foster family leaves. I do like car rides, cuddling on the couch and I am a great guard dog. I do not do well on a leash nor do I like playing ball and stuff like that (I'm laid back and lazy) my perfect home would be in the country with lots of area to run, a home with another dog, since I am a follower and get really attached to my foster brothers and sisters and a home where there are kids, or at least kids that can visit. I would NOT do well in a home with yard that is not fenced in, and a home that I'm by myself all the time.
