A SECURELY FENCED YARD AND BORDER COLLIE SAVVY WILL BE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR HIM.*** Rocket is fostered in Myakka City, FL (Manatee County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Rocket is a 2-3 year old, 48 lb border collie with typical qualities of a young herder. He and his brother were never separated when young and do suffer from littermate syndrome. It is likely they never met another dog besides their littermates and mother until now, so they will need a savvy person to introduce them slowly to other dogs with low stimulus. Crating will be an absolute must. Rocket is affectionate, eager to please, playful and full of energy with an off switch. He is fast as a rocket. He has a strong possibility for herding with the help of an experienced trainer/handler. He shows interest in stalking livestock. He will need plenty of mentally stimulating activities to keep him happy. Rocket is house and crate trained, and easily corrected. He walks nicely on leash but may get excited. Rocket is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative.
