About Harlie

Adoption Fee: $175
Border Collie / Australian Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Harlie, and her sister, Davidson, came to rescue as surrenders due to unfortunate circumstances. They are almost 4 years old and were purchased from a pet store as puppies and labeled as Queensland Border Collies. They are likely a mix of sorts and Davidson is a little larger than her sister Harlie. These ladies are absolutely gorgeous and complete sweethearts. They adore children, loves to play ball, go for car rides, and adore attention. We are working on socializing with them. At this time Harlie is reliant on Davidson and Davidson gets protective of Harlie around other dogs and is also the dominant of the pair. We are working on individual time to help negate the effects of littermate syndrome and they are doing great with it! They were also likely not socialized well with other dogs as puppies. Apart they meet other dogs well and are just timid, but together they get protective of each other. They are to the point they can do well apart but they can also be adopted together with a guardian that understands littermate syndrome and will continue to work on their development apart as well as together (ie, separate leashed walks, separate training times, etc to help them develop independent personalities). They love children and like to play fetch. Both ladies are a quite bit overweight as well probably weighing over 60 lbs so we will work to get them healthy. They also tested well with cats after getting to know what they were :) These gorgeous girls are just sweethearts deserving long term homes! Please share their story so hopefully that lifelong home can be found! If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please READ THE ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPLETE THE ADOPTION APPLICATION LOCATED AT forbellessake.org. Breeds cannot be guaranteed. Fenced yard is required if a yard is present. Adoption fee is $175 and all residents are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and treated for any other known medical needs.
