About SALADO

Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

I got my name from a famous town in Texas that was once a stop on the Chisholm Trail! My foster mom says my pretty orange fur reminds her of the sunsets there. When my sister Iris and I were very small, we were two little babies, homeless and alone in the world who accidentally walked into a trap. When we woke up, parts of our ears were missing, and people said we were something called 'fixed!' Even though we were so tiny, we were sent back out into the big, bad world to find our way all by ourselves, with no mother to protect us. Soon, we walked into another trap, only the people who picked us up this time didn't want to fix us, they dumped us at a shelter instead who said we were 'feral!' The shelter said we were too mean for anybody to want us, but we weren't mean at all, just scared for our lives! They were going to kill us, but we got lucky and were saved at the very last minute! It took us a long time to stop being so scared, but now we are what our foster mom says are 'lovebugs,' and I am a 'purrbox' like my sister! I love to play with other cats, even dogs (if they're nice), toys, and just about anything I can get my paws on! The thing I love most is being petted and cuddled, although I will gently let you know when I need to have my feet back on the ground again! I am about a year and a half old, neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and have a microchip so I will never be lost again! I can't wait to get the furever home my mom says I deserve, where I will be loved to the moon and back for all my life, and be part of a family so I can be their bestest friend ever! Maybe that loving home is yours? Please let my foster mom know if you think we could be a furever family! I am housebroken, always use the litterbox, do not spray, do not scratch up the furniture, and am very well-behaved!
