About Alaska

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. Hi everyone! My name is Alaska. My sister Sleddie and I had a rough start to life. Someone found us being given away in a park at only 4 weeks old. Those people didn't want us but luckily mama knew just what to do. We were so young and sick, but she got us fixed up and now we're the best pups ever!! We love to play - but only with toys! We sleep all night and love to eat! We play great wi th our 60 pound sister, but we're also very gentle. And we are SO smart! Mama says we could be trained to do some awesome tricks if someone wanted - after one correction, we almost never make the same mistake again! We're cuddly, but playful. We love to run but we also love to nap on soft things. If you take us out enough we're almost potty trained! But we always use a pee pad when we just can't make it. I'm a little more independent than my sister, and I don't need as many cuddles as she does. Come meet me this weekend. I'd be a great addition to any family! Alaska is a female Husky mix. She was born approximately 1-22-18 and currently weighs 10 pounds. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
