About Baby

Baby is a sweet, 9 YO, 100 lbs, girl who came to PAWS after her owner had to go live in a nursing home. She is looking for a new owner she can be devoted to, only like a German Shepherd can do. She is very well house trained and knows how to sit, shake hands, and speak on command. Baby is friendly to everyone, but will alert you to any strange noises. With her big bark and protective nature, you will never have to worry about anyone bothering you. Baby gets along with her foster canine male companions, but had always been the only dog so she would love to be your one and only. We do not know her compatibility with female dogs. She's a couch potato and loves to lie in her space. She is overweight due to a thyroid issue in which she takes medication. The cost is inexpensive, but critical she be given regularly. She hadn't had her meds for a while so she is overweight, but is now losing the pounds. Baby would do best with an owner(s) experienced with the German Shepherd breed. She will be happiest living indoors with her family, but with access to a large, fenced yard or have plenty of opportunities to walk, hike, and play where she can burn off her natural energy to help her lose the weight.
