About Foxy

I adopted this amazingly smart, high energy cattle dog from a local shelter. I thought I could give her a great home and I will keep her as long as necessary, but I recognize after 2 months that she needs someplace where she will have a 'job'. She has tons of energy and is in obedience classes now, where she is the smartest dog there, hands down! Her breed is to herd and she is very serious most of the time. She does love to play and with me gone at work 8-9 hours a day and living in the city, I feel like she should be in a different kind of home. She shouldn't live with little kids and would do best with one or two adults. She doesn't care for other dogs, we are trying to get her socialized through her classes and plan on getting her in a dog walking group. She does get along with our cats (once she realized they wouldn't let her herd them!) If you or anyone you know has a home in the country preferably with a farm, maybe some cattle or sheep, I know she would thrive. I'll keep her forever but I think she would be happier in a different environment. I would have to see where she was going before I allowed her to be adopted. If you are looking for this breed of dog and know the breed, I feel like she is top-of-the-line, very trainable very smart
