About Frosty

Adoption Fee: $250
Schnauzer / Chihuahua
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Frosty is fostered in Clearwater, FL (Pinellas County). We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for foster families! Frosty is a sweet little senior schnauzer mix (we also see some other terrier and chihuahua) at 10 years young and 15 lbs. She takes a few days to warm up, but once she is bonded she wants nothing but to follow your shadow, sleep in a nice comfy bed next to your couch, and nudge your hand for gentle pets. She will be happiest in a quiet home with someone willing to show her slow, gentle, and confident affection. Being timid and defensive around fast movement and noises, we would not recommend children in the household. She doesn't mind dogs but would rather live in an one dog house. She does seem to love cats and will perk up and wag when one walks past. She has shown some mild resource guarding behavior towards other animals when she is around her human, and it is something that she responds quickly to correction, but will be an ongoing training opportunity in her new home. She is fully house-trained but does need to take her time out in the yard. She loves easy walks and sniffing everything in the world around her! Frosty is a simple, sweet old gal looking for a forever home to lay her head. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, has had a recent dental, is microchipped, and heartworm negative. Her standard adoption donation is $250; however, she can be adopted by a senior citizen 65+ for $150 through our Seniors for Seniors program.
