Smokey is a 4 year old Lilac Snowshoe that we adopted from a breeder in December. (The breeder had neutered him and 'retired' him from breeding and was downsizing.) We have young children ranging in age from 2-9 and Smokey is wonderful with them...SO patient and cuddly, not skittish at all. He is also great with our dogs, doesn't mind them at all and is totally relaxed around them. (We have 2 very large dogs.) The major problem we are having is with our other male cat...for some reason he despises Smokey and torments him. This has caused problems with Smokey using the litter box consistently. I'm not 100% confident or certain that moving Smokey into a cat-free home would solve the problem, but I strongly believe that it would. He clearly does well with dogs (that aren't too interested in him or chasing him) and is great with children, but another male cat isn't going to work out for him. He is really a stunning kitty with a beautiful coat pattern and pretty powder blue eyes...but his personality is what our family has fallen in love with. He is such a sweetheart and SO affectionate. I truly do not want to part with him, however, if I can find the PERFECT match for him...someone that will provide a less stressful home for him with his own space and spoil the heck out of him, I will let him go. Until then...I will continue to occasionally clean cat urine from my carpets and laundry while cursing his name. ; )
