About Kona

Adoption Fee: $275
Australian Kelpie
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Kona is a SWEET loving dog. She was a stray who landed in a high kill shelter. They were going to euthanize her saying she was food aggressive. She's not. But we got a call to take her and we jumped to go rescue her. She was adopted to a lovely 23 year old who was working but waiting for her fianc̩' to return from serving our country. Jennie was a running and Kona LOVES running the trails and in the parks. They were doing miles daily. Jen's fianc̩ returned and broke off their engagement. Jen soon after was broad sided on the highway breaking her ankles and her back. She had to move home with Kona to her parents and that was a year ago. Her parents work and care for Jen and don't have much time for walking Kona. Jen thought she's recover from her injuries but she was just recently informed that she might not be independent again and it's heartbreaking for everyone. Kona has been Jen's best friend and nurse and the time has come for Kona to find a home where she can again go for long runs as she so desperately needs to do. She's three years old. 40 pounds she needs to be in non smoking home with a fenced yard. Someone who is around home often and not working a full time job. She needs a active family. She would be fine with older children if they are not too hype. She will feed off that energy. She'd make a amazing companion for a young or active person who works from home or can be home often to take her on daily runs. She's sweet and loving and just a GEM.
