About Chloe

I'm Chloe and I am looking for My Forever Home! We could fill a page with the endearing words that Chloe's foster family has shared about her. 'She loves to go for rides in the car. She bounces up and down when she gets excited.' 'She is a very loving little girl...AND she is a snuggle bug.' 'I feed the horses (and) Chloe loves to help.' But the job of a foster family also is to honestly share with us any challenges that our rescue may have so that we can find the perfect forever home. For Chloe, the challenge is that she doesn't have feeling in her hind end, so she doesn't have awareness of her back legs. (She's not in pain and would likely benefit from an adaptive cart.) Simply put, she's an older dog and needs some help. (Chloe is a young 10 years old). According to her foster mom, 'Going downstairs isn't much of a problem. Going upstairs is impossible, but she still tries. She puts her front paws on the first step and then looks at you so forlorn that you just have to help...' Despite this limitation, her foster mom says she still runs like the wind! Chloe's also pretty insecure. Someone will need to give her at least two weeks to settle in, preferably in a home with no other pets. (She would likely become accustomed to other animals in the house, however; her current foster home has dogs and cats, but it took time.) We'd also recommend that she be watched closely with children, especially if they wanted to pick her up. Since she doesn't have sensation in her hind section, it's unsettling and children don't always pick up on the signals. Typically, we reach out to our adoption wait-list when we have a rescue come into Sunshine Corgi Rescue, but Chloe is a beautiful, special girl who is going to need a loving family that has the patience to let her make a new home her own. And she needs a forever family that can look at her walking challenges and find ways to increase her mobility and sense of security.
