About Sammi

Rescue welcomes Sammi! Sammi was left with a room mate when the owner moved and the room mate could not take Sammi with her so they called us. This boy is suppose to be what is called a Pekipom or pekingese / pomeranian. We don't know for sure. He is 2 years old and very sweet. He was terrified at first, visibly shacking and nipped at us several times. After two days, he was cuddling on our laps as if he'd been there all his life. He came quite dirty and with an eversion to a brush. Probably because he was matted from head to toes. We finally convinced him to let us wash him and clip most of his mats off. However, he still does not accept much in the way of being brushed. We assume someone attempted to pull at his matted hair a time too many with a brush. Nevertheless, this type of torture takes some time to wear off. He will have to be kept clean and tangle free for this not to happen again, so someone has to be dedicated and able to keep him professionally groomed. He probably is not a good dog to be in a home with children. He does walk on a leash and knows how to use a doggie door. This precious 20 to 25 pound boy is an absolute doll once he settles in and loves to be petted and sit in your lap.
