About Breeze

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier / Poodle
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

The very first thing that blue-eyed (and brown-eyed) Breeze the Wheaten Terrier/Poodle mix wants to make clear is that he's a love. In these photos you're not aware of the striking golden and beige colors that run through his gorgeous non-shedding or very lightly shedding coat (it's difficult to tell for certain at this point due to sad shelter hair) - with a commitment to periodic grooming, tender loving care and great nutrition, Breeze's non-shedding coat will be healthy, cottony-soft and matt-free. Everything is new to Breeze...his adorable little nose sniffs shyly at an outstretched hand...and then an ear to ear smile if it's a loving touch. And then, before you know it, Breeze is cuddling close sharing the love and sweetness that lives inside of this amazing dog. Breeze was turned into a Texas shelter by his guardian to be euthanized. He apparently had been hit by a car and his family didn't have the means or desire to help. As Breeze was being processed into the shelter, he caught the eye of the shelter director...he's a stunning dog that radiates warmth and positive energy (even in great pain from his injuries). She crouched down to say hello and was brought to tears as Breeze dragged his injured body over to give and get love. She knew at that moment that she would put every effort into his safety. She whispered in his ear - your name for your new life is Breeze because one day you'll run again..just like the Breeze. Farfel's Rescue is submitting Breeze's measurements to Eddie's Wheels in Massachusetts where his custom wheelchair will be built to make the shelter director's promise a reality. This 12 - 18 month old, 17 lb Wheaten Terrier/Poodle mix (Woodle) truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious hugging and kind words will send him over the moon. In this spirit of great behavior, Breeze loves to spread his sweetness around. He is such a people dog...he loves kids but they definitely must be a bit older and very gentle to handle him kindly and with respect. We can envision Breeze with an active retired couple or individual.. or a younger family who want an adorable and sweet dog as a family member and best companion. He would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his favorite people and canine friends. Once he gets the hang of his new wheels, Breeze will be able to take on trails and paths just like a champ..keeping up with other dogs and his people will be easy for this young and able-bodied guy. Breeze would be overjoyed to accompany his family to dog-friendly spots..enjoying the sunshine and time together. Breeze can have just a moment of insecurity from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great guy past these feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned. Breeze's basic nature is to be very joyful and positive.. and in just a moment, his silly and fun-loving personality takes over. While we've requested that Breeze be neutered/microchipped prior to his arrival in Denver, we're not optimistic that this will occur. If it does not, Farfel's is happy to cover all charges for Breeze if our Denver vet is used. Breeze will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 3/23/18. If interested in this very sweet and very loving best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to [email protected] or fax to 303-443-7730. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Breeze, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
