About Gatsby-PENDING!

Yorkie / Australian Terrier
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

The very first thing our rescuer noticed about Gatsby were his gorgeous eyes in the dim high-kill shelter light. Gatsby's eyes are amazing...they lend a beauty to his face that caught the attention of his rescuer. She stared at Gatsby for a bit (while he gently, and so sweetly touched her hand with his nose) and she saw all the wonderful possibilities in this very beautiful Terrier mix. This photo definitely doesn't do this exceptional guy justice! A spa day is in order - underneath the shelter dust is a sweet and very stunning guy. Gatsby immediately makes it clear that he's a LOVE! His adorable little face seems to smile when he gets loving attention and kind strokes...and then a wag and his beautiful head is in your lap. Gatsby was brought out of his cage.. and before you know it, he was gently loving up our rescuer. Gatsby was immediately so joyful and clearly delighted with the turn his life had just taken! He was removed from the shelter and began his education in a foster home that fell in love with Gatsby's sweetness and engaging personality. This 12-18 month old, approximately 10 lb cutie-pie truly lights up when he feels like he's done a good job... some serious belly rubs and kind words will send him over the moon. Gatsby wants desperately to be a family guy...he would have the time of his life in an active home with retirees or a younger family with dog-crazy older kids... and a gentle and fun canine best friend. Gatsby would love to be a take-along guy. He would be overjoyed with a walk along neighborhood paths, a fun time at the park or a stroll along Pearl Street to fine-tune his urban skills. Gatsby enjoys gentle dog-loving people of all ages and shows his devotion in very positive ways....he's an all-time snuggler and is in nirvana with cuddling time on his people's laps. He'd love nothing more at the end of the day than to cuddle up on the couch (or bed) with his favorite people and show his loving devotion. Gatsby would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his family. We wouldn't want him to be left alone for long hours waiting for his family to arrive home in the evening.. 4 or so hours at a time are fine..but an entire day is just too long for an active and sensitive pup. Gatsby has a beautiful coat that was ignored in his earlier life. To make it the gorgeous coat that speaks of his breed mix, Gatsby will require a commitment to periodic baths/grooming and great nutrition to keep his coat cottony- soft and matt free. Gatsby will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Gatsby's neuter and microchip immediately after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used. Gatsby will be arriving on transport in Denver in mid - late March (will update as soon as transport information is available).. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and cuddly best friend, please fill out and return to [email protected], fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Gatsby, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much for choosing rescue.
