About Duke

I adopted Duke from the shelter about a month ago. We thought he would be a perfect fit for our family even after several meet n greets. Ive observed aggressive behavior from him over that time. He bit both me and my son today. All i did was raise my voice at him for eating the boys food and he lunged at me biting my stomach. My son came over to pet him while he was laying down and he also bit him. Upon adopting him it was stated he was food aggressive but so is my other dog and she's been perfectly fine. Never even so much as growled at any of us. With Duke he is also very defiant and if you try to correct him he snaps at you. There is no growling or anything as a warning. I didn't want to have to do this but ive worked with him nonstop since we brought him home. He is more than just food aggressive. I know there is no way the shelter could have known these things so i am trying to make sure his new owner does. I wouldn't suggest a home with kids and even if he gets food off the counter or tables i recommend letting him have it or he will try to snap at you if you even do so much as try to get him away from it. I really dont want to have to just take him to the shelter like that either. This is breaking mine and my kids hearts so not something we want to do but my kids safety comes first. If anyone has any questions please PM me. Im only asking for the rehoming fee so that he goes to a great patient loving home! He is fully vetted and i took him to the vet right after i got him. Im not even trying to get the $600 some dollars i spent at the vet back. I can show his vet records. Thank you.
