She is strong, healthy (no allergies or skin infections), intelligent, eager to please, and can be a typical stubborn bulldog at times (she is definitely an alpha). She knows a ton of tricks (stay, sit, paw, lay down, speak) and is impressively intelligent. She loves car rides, sleeping on the couch and sleeping on the bed if allowed, being the center of attention, walks/hikes (been known to do 8 miles easily), but also known to sleep all day so not required to be walked. She is super smart, sweet, loyal, obedient, house trained. We have to re-home Fiona, a heart wrenching decision, because she became very aggressive towards our other (male) bulldog after living 5 years together (since they were puppies). This started right after after my husband was deployed for the military for 2 years. We have done every thing we can to solve the aggressive behavior. Both dogs were treated with Paxil by a behavior psychology vet, who recommended of the dogs be re-homed. They also both had 2 weeks of intense obedience training in order to remedy their aggressive interactions with each other but nothing has helped, including my husband's return home. The decision to re-home Fiona has been one of agony for us but it is best for her and our other dog, for their own safety and happiness. We are due to have our first baby, and fear the home will be unsafe for the new infant due to the hostility of the dogs if they continue to live together. She is a great dog and will thrive as the only pet in the home. It's no life for either of the dogs having to spend half the time secluded from the rest of the family. We decided to part with Fiona as opposed to the other bulldog as he has severe anxiety issues and we know Fiona will survive the big adjustment of finding a new family much better than he would. A purebred%BD%BD%BD%A0English Bulldog, AKC Certified, Fiona requires a home experienced with the EB or other similar breed. Anyone with dog training and/or behavior modification is a plus. Fiona is a dominant female and requires a strong, not aggressive, owner. She is your typical Bulldog and had a tendency to test her limits if not provided with clear and consistent commands. She is a lover and wants nothing more than to be loved. Due to her Bulldog tendencies, small children will likely be injured and therefore we prefer he goes to a home with older children. She is crate trained and loves her crate but does get scared and aggressive if you put your hands in the crate. She loves walks but does lunge and pull on the leash when other dogs are around her, so she does need a strong adult to be the only one to walk her. The only other thing we've seen is some 'sun-downing' behavior in the evening where she just likes to be left alone in her own company.
