It breaks my heart to list this precious Dachsie up for adoption. Our home and health situation change makes this necessary for his best interest. He is a sweet dog we adopted from a rescue organization almost 6 years ago. He was believed to be about 2 years old at the time. He was unneutered, not housetrained nor leash trained and distrustful of hands and men in particular. He has come along way in overcoming his deficits through no fault of his own. He had been terribly abused we surmise by a dark haired man, but we are unsure if the man was white, black, or Hispanic. Thus he is a ' fear biter' .....not an aggressive biter. It is our duty to not put him in those circumstances. He is less trustworthy around men than women, but came to adore my husband, adult son and grandson. He loves to be a laid back lap dog, but it would take patience to make him a good bed cuddler. He has a hard time settling down, but enjoys his bed crate and does well all night long. He loves treats, he is very good about signaling his need to go outside to potty. He is submissive to other dominant dogs, but considers cats to be prey no matter what we try to do to break him of that. He is healthy and up to date with all immunizations. He comes with food and his bed crate. We want no fee, but want him to have a loving home. He deserves a wonderful second half of life! It helps if his prospective family has experience with the Dachshund personality and temperament for a win-win for both! Texts or emails appreciated for serious inquiries
