About Sadie

Sadie is a 9 year old, 13 pound Shih Tzu Maltese mix. She has some issues and needs a special home. Sadie is almost deaf, she does not hear well at all. She has cataracts which means her vision isn't 20/20. She navigates her home and yard just fine. Sadie does really well with other dogs and would probably enjoy another small dog in her home. She doesn't do multiple stairs. Her forever home should have no young children. Sadie was removed from horrible home situations twice already. The first was in 2010 and the last in 2017. She was in such bad shape that she went straight to the emergency vet. Sadie was so matted they couldn't even get to her skin and her mouth was in such bad shape they aren't sure how she was eating. She was sedated and shaved and then placed on antibiotics to prevent infection. From there she came into the care of Critter Crusaders. It took some time to get Sadie healthy. Sadie has had four surgeries. The first was an extensive dental. She was already missing 10 teeth and had another 25 pulled. That means Sadie has 7 teeth left. Sadie loves her dry kibble and having few teeth doesn't slow her down at all. She had a mammary tumor removed that was cancerous and a second surgery to remove more tissue so Sadie is cancer free. She also had an inguinal hernia repaired and benign perianal gland tumor removed from her tail. Sadie is now in good health and has been looked over from head to tail including blood work and radiographs. She is now healthy and ready to find a forever home. Sadie does not enjoy being cuddled and held yet. She likes her routine and continues to make progress every day. Sadie has the potential to make significant gains in a home that is willing to work with her and give her the love she hasn't had for most of her life.�'�� Sadie is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
