About Betty

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Lovely Betty is looking for a deep emotional connection with someone who will offer her stability, comfort, and love. Quiet, friendly, and affectionate, Betty conducts herself like a refined lady with exceptional manners and impeccable house-training. Betty is also good with people, dogs, and cats of all ages, shapes, and sizes. However, despite all of her wonderful qualities, this sweet Rat Terrier spent much of her 9 years bouncing from one home to the next, as different owners moved, passed away, or became homeless. Throughout these upheavals, Betty was resilient and never developed any baggage; she still trusts people willingly and seems grateful to those who care for her. She enjoys playing with her tennis ball and gets spunky and romps around once or twice a day, but she is generally pretty mellow and likes to take casual walks and snuggle on the couch. At 23 lbs., Betty is about 2 lbs. overweight, but apart from that she is in excellent health. She is crate trained, but she isn't crated at her foster home because she is perfectly trustworthy. Betty rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, calmly greets strangers, and is extremely adaptable in just about any situation. Her sensitive disposition responds best to a gentle touch, as she has been treated roughly in the past by heavy hands. Betty longs for a true forever home, where, for the rest of her life, she will be cherished as the amazing companion that she is.
