Agustus, aka Auggie Doggie, is an approximately 2-year-old 20 lb. Rattie mix, who was found as a stray and placed in a shelter in Central New York. Auggie was one unhappy boy there, so the shelter asked New Rattitude to help. Auggie traded in his shelter cage for the comfort of a foster home and began to thrive. His favorite thing is to sit on the back of the couch and just watch what is going on around him. What a great companion he would be for someone who enjoys the quiet pursuits of home life! Auggie is good with children although little ones might be intimidated by his playful nipping, so his future household probably shouldn't include kids of kindergarten age or younger. He also gets along with other dogs but should be fed separately because he's protective of his food. Perhaps most importantly, Auggie needs to have regular walks on leash or a securely fenced backyard because he will exploit any holes or potential escape routes and go exploring. (Perhaps one too many 'explorations' led to his stint in the shelter.) Auggie is house-trained and will do circles at the door when he needs to go out. We think you'll do circles of joy if you adopt this handsome young dog and feel the satisfaction of providing him the security and love he deserves.
