About Bebo

Bebo is a unique guy that is looking for a dog savvy person/family. He can be a bit of an Archie Bunker kind of guy, so sweet most of the time but with a big opinion other times. Just as Edith knew how to handle Archie(oooooh Archie!!) you have to know how to handle Bebo. When he gets feisty which is usually barking at another dog we tell him 'Bebo...you be a gooood boy!' He will always come back, put his little paws on his leg and wag his tail, praise goes a lot further than discipline. He landed at a shelter after his family divorced and they could not keep him. Pretty confusing for an 8 year old guy to start all over again. Then he was adopted by a couple for ONE week and they gave him up when they said he had issues with other dogs and people, especially when leashed. But they said he loves being brushed, care rides, and is housebroken!!! So here he is in rescue so we can find just the right family for this little guy. Bebo is a sweet boy, at first he growled at the bigger dogs but is fine now, perhaps he will have some leash aggression in a more urban setting. He is a hard headed little guy but does well with a person that can diffuse a situation before it progresses. Such as, if he is excitable when the dogs are all going outside then I make sure to get his attention and redirect him. If a big dog is walking past him, I praise him for being a good boy and he stays calm. Bebo just needs to relearn his world thru his family, he is a smart boy and just needs loving yet firm guidance. Bebo will try to wear the pants of the family if you let him, but those of you that have had a dog with that chutzpah may appreciate his spunk. He is not the dog for everyone but we know there is that someone special out there that has that special little guy/girl in their life with that same twinkle in their eye, I myself have a feisty dog and at 19 years old she still rules the roost.
