Whew! Long Flight! Dorie was born about June 2, 2016 and weighs about 21 lbs. Dorie lived through the hurricane and then sent to the mainland to find a new home. How frightened this poor, little, thing must have been, but he was one of the lucky ones that escaped death. He is adorable and good with kids, dogs and cats. He also adores his toys. House training is still in process. It is likely something new in his life since so many dogs down there wander and many are called 'Beach Dogs'. We are so thankful Dorie could join us in an area that has more cold and snow than we'd like, but at least we don't have any deadly, destructive, forces of nature. A note from his northern foster mom: Dore was living in a foster home in Puerto Rico before being flown to Buffalo. He loves to be with other dogs or cats. He likes to explore in the backyard and smells everything. Loves to be in your lap, Sleeps in his kennel or dog bed all night. Loves to do his morning walks with the leash. Also likes to travel in the car. Likes to be petted, and very playful. He came with a note that he eats salmon dry dog food. He shakes like a leaf when he goes outside, not used to the cold yet, so he may need a sweater. He is not fully house trained, but will use pee pads. He will wear a male doggy diaper to help him with house training. He is a lot of fun and loves to play with all dog toys and play chase and fetch.
