About Abby

Abby is a true gem. She has no shortage of affections for every human she interacts with and while she is often hesitant around the male dog she is fostering with, she has nothing but love for her foster humans. She loves to snuggle, be petted, is eager to please, and always greets you at the door with a smiling face. She is potty trained and does well on a leash. She is learning commands like 'sit' and 'off,' is highly treat and praise motivated, and has been easy to train so far! She has not been around kids or babies in her foster home but we have no reason to believe she would have issues with them. She has never demonstrated any destructive behavior and is kennel trained. She is a typical Velcro Doberman. We suspect that she has had some limited food/safe space in the past as she guards her food and kennel and occasionally get a bit grumpy at her foster brother when she is worried he might try to take them from her or come too close. She seems to have been a mamma and loves to collect babies (stuffed animals) from around the house and bring them to a safe spot in her kennel. We don't blame her as her foster brother thinks that stuffed toys are made to pull the fluff out of! She would absolutely thrive in a home where she is the only pup or where she has a family that could spend a good amount of time at home with her working on her relationship with another resident dog. She is an absolutely amazing lady and she will make an amazing addition to a loving family. All animals adopted from us are fully vetted including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, heartworm test and deworming.
