About Wilbur (Wilba)

Wilbur, or Wilba as we tend to call her, is a Non-Standard Scottish Fold Munchkin with long legs and straight ears. We got her and her brother, Nugget, almost 4 years ago. They have been wonderful additions to our family. However, after our daughter was born (she is now 2) Wilba became aggressive. She had previously been a very gentle and playful cat. Her brother has remained that way. Now Wilba swats and bites our daughter and family members and friends. We are concerned for our daughter's safety and believe at this point we need to find Wilba another home. We have tried to make more quiet space in the house for her and play with her more, but that has not helped with her aggressive outbursts. My family has been encouraging me to rehome her for almost two years now, but I love her so much and was hoping we could work it out. Wilba remains a sweet and loving cat towards me. She snuggles, head butts, and sleeps in my bed at my feet every night. I am completely devastated about this, but know by her behavior that she is no longer happy in our home and want to do what is best for her as well as our family. Wilba gets along beautifully with her brother, but has had no exposure to other cats. She hisses at and is afraid of dogs. She does well with older children, but not infants or toddlers.
