About Coco

To whom it concerns; My name is Jazmin Pettus and I am currently in search of a rescue that would be willing to take in my 3 year old female pit-lab mix due to a variety of conflicting reasons. I currently live in San Bernardino, am a full-time student at California State University, San Bernardino, and full-time store manager at a retail store, and have had Coco since she was a puppy back in 2015. I rescued her from a homeless couple, needless to say why, but I felt that she was not in the right hands considering the couple had mentioned they were hiding her everywhere they were staying and already knowing that it would become harder for them as she grew, I decided to take on the responsibility of giving her a better home. She has since always stayed with me wherever I have gone, being that of my previous house, my mother's house, and now in my apartment, and with my other female pit bull that I have had for a year prior to having Coco, named Indigo. It has been quite a bit of a struggle and risk however for me to continue keeping her. Aside from now being much more busier than I ever have been, due to the restriction of space and lack of being able to be outside (I am not home much of the day), and my possible transition of living situations which may require me to only be allowed one pet, I also feel that she is too confined to being inside an apartment and I don't want it to get to a point where she becomes physically inactive, depressed or ill. She is a great with both people and other dogs and deserves so much more, of which I cannot provide right now unfortunately. My pit bull Indigo is a rescue as well and I got her at six months, but has recently I would say (within the past 2 years has had some defensive issues with other dogs and is not very dog friendly overall, however Coco grew up around her since she was a puppy and Indigo tolerates her even now that she is already older, but this is another worry of mine as I mentioned I am not home most of the time and giving them the attention they need. As it appears, I clearly have a lot on my plate and simply do not want to continue to keep Coco when I know that she would do so much better with a family that goes out/has a backyard, has children, and a dog or two even. I am utterly terrified however of just giving her to a complete stranger that I come across from posting her online and I also have not been able to find anyone in my family or close friends that are able/willing to take her in. Although time is not necessarily an issue right this moment, I do not want the time to come where I need to forcefully make a decision that could jeopardize her safety and need help resolving this situation before it becomes too late in the case that my living situation does change. I follow your social media Instagram pages and admire the dedication and work put towards giving animals like Coco another chance at finding a forever home and hope that she gets that as well. I understand the financial burden that it may cause and am willing to fund some of the bills associated with getting Coco healthy and checked prior to getting adopted, and personally taking her out to your location. I'm not sure exactly how much 'some' is as I am 100% self-supporting through my undergrad but I am willing to help as much as I can to ensure she is well taken care of.
