About Ra

Adoption Fee: $200
Pit Bull
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Ra is a precious Dogo Argentino/Pitbull Mix puppy that likes to be close and cuddle. He is white with some spotting, 6 months old and completely deaf. All his vaccinations are up to date and he has been neutered. He has 'Cherry Eye' in both eyes, and has been seen by a Vet. We were advised he is not in pain and surgery is optional. Ra is housebroken and crate trained. He stays in his 'room' while we are at work, which is approx. 8 hours a day. He is also crated when we clean the house, as he likes to chase the broom and vacuum. Most other times he is able to roam the house and sleeps beside the bed. He loves to get treats, running around the yard and long walks. He doesn't like his leash so much, or any leash for that matter. Most times there's no issue with the leash, but sometimes he try and take it from you. He once unintentional bit my wife while trying to get the leash. Ra understands basic hand commands such as: sit, relax, lay and quiet. Ra completed a few sessions of 'Basic Training' at the local pet store prior to us realizing he was deaf. He also plays with our God children that visit our home often, and there has never been an issue. They are all older than 7 years of age. He has an older brother, Chico. Chico is an 8 year old, 11pd terrier mix. They exist peacefully in the same space. There are times when Ra wants to play and Chico doesn't. Most times they handle amongst themselves, but we have stepped in a few times because Ra is unable to hear the change in Chico's bark telling him to 'back off'. Ra was 'rescued' from an alley and was determined to be 10 weeks at his 1st appt. His deafness was unknown until he was approx. 4 months. At this time, we don't have the time and/or resources to care for a deaf dog. I have a disability and hoped Ra could be trained as my 'service dog'. However, due to him being deaf this is not possible. Ra deserves a loving home with a family with time to love a deaf dog. He is an awesome guy. If you have a big heart and lots of love to give, he's the guy for you.
