About Nova

This beautiful girl is Nova! At about 1 1/2 years old, we suspect Nova is a catahoula/pit mix. Her owner is going through some life changes, and unfortunately needs to rehome her. Nova was rescued from a less than ideal situation in the south. Since owning her, she is reported to be quite the loyal girl. She is dog friendly, and has lived with dogs big and small. She does best with a playmate her size or bigger, but is open to other matches. Nova does have some anxiety, so is looking for an owner who may have experience with managing that. She currently gets CBD oil daily to keep her anxiety in check. She tends to be barky and nervous when first meeting people, but she does much better with treats, as she is food motivated. When not home, her owner had her crated, but would reinforce the crate with clip leashes to make sure she was secure. Her anxiety is at it's highest during adjustment periods, so anyone taking her home should be willing to give her time to properly and slowly adjust. Nova is a wonderful adventure partner. She would love an active owner who wants to take her for hikes, walks, etc. She rides well in the car, but is usually seat belted in the back seat, otherwise she would want to sit on your lap!
