About Maddie

Her gaze gentle, her eyes soft, mellow Maddie is calmly and curiously studying her bright new word. The 47-pound former stray, so easy and so happy in the company of the adults, children and other dogs in her foster home, is blessed with the sweetest of dispositions, and wants only to please, to love and be loved. One of her favorite forms of affection is gently jumping to her fosters' hips and putting her legs around them to hug them! The other is cuddling up comfy close with them on the couch. Eager to learn and easy to teach, she responds quickly and positively both to new experiences and new commands, is working on 'come' and 'sit' and honing the 'heel' command for the long walks she loves. While new to the concept of playing with toys, she likes carrying a ball around in her mouth, and is finding out what fun toys can be. Crate and housetrained and in need of ongoing exposure to the world at large, this marvelous miss will make some loving family a cherished companion and an active one the ideal hiking companion - fur-ever.
