About Coach

Adoption Fee: $350.00
Pomeranian
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Special Needs: diabetic Our lively little joker, Coach, is truly the class clown. He's a tiny boy, 7.5 pounds, with a big, big personality. Coach always has a smile on his face, and greets everyone with happy tail and a snuggle. He is a consummate Disney moment dog. At a stately 9 years old, Coach was dumped by his owners into NYC ACC, rather than providing vet care for some suspicious symptoms. After a full health exam and blood work, Coach was diagnosed with diabetes, and has been stabilized with two daily insulin shots. His Insulin regimen it's extremely easy, and Coach is such a doll, that he takes his shots without a fuss. Other blood values were within normal limits, and Coach is in great shape with a lot to offer the right compassionate adopter. Coach is a small toy dog, and appears to be a purebred Pomeranian. His 7.5 pounds is his ideal weight, under all of that poof of hair. He has the characteristic thick, bushy Pomeranian double coat, with a thicker undercoat. His coloring is reddish-tan with cream markings, Coach is a very friendly boy, and he behaves well during his grooming. Coach will need brushing a couple times a week as well as a professional grooming a few times a year. Coach seems to be a plucky, confident little dog. He has all of the Pomeranian panache, and none of the 'ankle biter' tendencies. We think that Coach would most enjoy a moderately active lifestyle with an adult single or couple, or active family, who love lap dog companionship. He thrives on attention, and would love to be the center of attention. Coach is the ideal family dog, since he does not play favorites and will wrangle a hug and a kiss out of anyone he meets. Coach enjoys a good brisk leash walk, but then likes to relax by the fire or nap on his person's lap during TV or Book time. Coach is relatively quiet for a Pomeranian, and would be the perfect apartment dog. He could easily join a multi-dog home with one or two other laid back dogs or cats, but could even fit into a large dog home. He has a genial vibe, and could be a comforting companion to a senior dog, who recently lost a beloved house mate. Coach has good house manners, and is house trained, crate trained and can easily be persuaded to use a wee wee pad in inclement weather. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. Coach is in excellent health. His diabetes has been diagnosed and managed successfully with an easy at home regimen. He is at a lean body weight, and is neutered. He has been vaccinated for Rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus), He has been boostered as needed. He has had the 4dx test: negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed, and microchipped. He has been on appropriate heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.
