About Cash

This sweet 4 year old boy was adopted as a puppy from a foster family who was unsure of his breed.A single, working Mom with two adolescent boys who have never owned a dog adopted Cash. They hired my daughter and me to walk him midday while they were at work and school. He was in a windowless bathroom for 1 year frantically trying to get out. we convinced the owner to crate train him which she did. He does not have a fenced in backyard and only leaves his house leased. I bring him to my fenced yard frequently where he loves to run, play fetch (he can catch a ball in mid air) and search. He is a working dog without a job, tasks or adequate exercise. He loves and adores his people but is in protection mode when new people come around. His boys have friends over who run, wrestle laugh etc and Cash is always ready to defend his boys which is a problem so he stays crated a lot. He recently bit a boy on the lip when the boy layed down by him while he was resting on the floor. The owner heard Cash wince and said the boy could have layed on his leg therefore the bite but the Mom made a decision that the dog has to be rehomed. She is planning to put the dog down if a home is not found! Mom is an attorney and very concerned about the liability. She also sent Cash away to a 3 week training. He returned thin, frail with a shock collar. I have cared for this dog for 4 years-he is intelligent, loving, adorable and does not deserve to be put down. He can be leash aggressive with other dogs but I feel it is because he is in protective mode. He plays nice with other dogs when off leash and will even be subservient. He likes his cat brother who also dominants him. Please help me find a home for this great dog!
