Name: Troy Age: DOB 3/9/08 (almost 10 years) Breed: Cavashon (Cavalier King Charles and Bichon) Sex: Male (confirmed neutered) Location: Brooklyn, NY Vet Info: Troy is confirmed neutered. Per his vet's office, he is rabies exempt due to 'his condition and age'. He is confirmed heartworm negative. Troy's owner tells us he has diabetes and is partially blind. Troy weighs about 32 pounds. Owner Info: Troy is a very handsome and sweet Cavashon (Cavalier King Charles and Bichon) whose owner is going through difficult times and is unable to keep him. She writes that she currently lives on the second floor of a private home, and Troy has a lot of trouble using the stairs. He's already fallen a few times, but she is not able to carry him due to her medical condition. She also tells us the house where she is living has been sold and she does not know where she'll be moving, but she must be out soon. Troy's owner wants us to know that Troy is a very sweet and calm dog and she wants him to be happy. She has had Troy since June, 2008. He was originally purchased from a pet store. Troy is an indoor dog with run of the house. He is not housebroken but is leash trained. He's a smart fellow and understands English and Spanish! He knows several commands including, Come, This Way, Go To Sleep, Let's Go, Water, Look, and Vamonos. His owner tells us he loves his walks! 'He love to go out for a walk and as soon as he sees or hear his leash gets exited.' Troy is good with people of all ages and both male and female dogs, but he does bark at unknown cats and sirens. 'He doesn't like unknown cats or will bark at them. He barks at sirens.' Troy can be possessive of toys, treats or food, and his owner gave us more details; 'Well as far as the toys or anything he has in his mouth, he is tenacious and usually wont let go unless he sees his leash. He will growl if you try to take it from him.' He has never bitten or snapped. Troy's owner gave us more information about his health: 'He currently takes vetinsulin. We was attack by two pitbulls in 2010 He gets pain on his right leg coming up stair. After being neutered he gained weight.' Troy's owner is desperately hoping we can help! 'Please review the fact I'm currently dealing with a chronic joints condition and pain. I have no idea where i will be moving to at this moment. I really want him to be happy with someone that will love him a house with yard. He is a very loving and calm pet. He need a place that is accessible for him. He love the yard and needs a place that he can go out.' 'Please contact [email protected]. Please note we will ask for a vet reference.
