About Jasper

small to medium size yellow and white labsenji. We have had him about 8 months got him from an animal shelter where we believe he came from CA at approximately a year old. He is a very active dog who needs to be busy at all times. We keep him kenneled when we are not at home and he is very comfortable in the kennel. He has a dominant personality and has shown a jealous nature with the dog we've had prior to his adoption.He reminds me of a toddler who doesn't want to share with his siblings, taking toys, food etc. He didn't show this personality when we first got him, but once he warmed up to his new home after a few months, this began to show up more. He plays well with our other dog and they get along like best buddies. Our other dog has been very patient with his toddler tendencies, it's us adults who are struggling with them. He loves to play with the stuffed toys we have and loves chewy bones. We keep lots of toys around so that he has plenty to chew on. He has a VERY loving personality, and just wants to be loved, but would probably do best where he is a single dog who is going to get all the attention. We are looking for a person who knows Basenji's or can tell me why you would be interested in a dog that has the qualities of this breed. You can read up on them online. A yard to run in is a must!!! Please understand we want to get him to a home that he will be for the long haul, and if someone doesn't understand the breed then he will be back out there again and I don't want that and will keep him until I know the fit is right.
